A little over a hundred years ago, the Houstons moved here to the pine-filled woods of Mississippi and called it, “Home”. There’s a lot of history here. At first, the family opened Houston Dairy, which operated successfully for many years. When that closed, the youngest son, Malcolm, turned one of the smaller barns into a meat processing plant. In March of 1958, the doors to Houston Processing opened. Today, Malcolm’s son, Jimmy, still runs the business pretty much the same as always, with the goal being to serve customers with excellence and integrity. The Lord said to treat others the way you want to be treated. Jimmy does that. He treats folks like family.
Because of the encouragement of our customers, we are now
offering our smoked sausage line, Houston Family Farms, through a website and shipping it within the continental United States. To start with, we are offering our seven best-selling flavors, with plans to add more flavors and other meat products as we go along because, in the Houston family, we like to blend the best of the old with the best of the new.
